ABOUT CHRISTINE HANSON

"ART IS CHOSEN ABANDONMENT"

Born in 1996, Christine’s artistic journey began during the lockdowns of the COVID-19 pandemic. As a child, she had a natural ability to draw, but it was never something she considered pursuing seriously - until the world slowed down, and art became a refuge. What started as a quiet hobby in uncertain times evolved into an undeniable passion, a means of feeling raw emotion and personal growth.

Now, Christine embraces art not just as a skill, but as an integral part of her identity. Her work is deeply intuitive, guided more by feeling than formal technique. "Sometimes I wish I’d learned the techniques," she reflects, "but then I realise - if I had, it wouldn’t be me on the canvas. Some things can’t be taught." For Christine, the process is just as important as the outcome, a constant exploration of how she creates what she does. And when asked how or why, there’s no precise answer—just a piece of emotion left to last forever.
